What Triggers Aches and Pains in the Office?

woman at her desk with neck painWhy is it that office work executives are constantly hit with shoulder and neck pains and lower back pain in their muscles that just will not go away. What is the source of them and what can you do to handle it?

Trigger points are hyper-irritable spots located in the outer band of skeletal muscle. These spots produce pain and often accompany chronic musculoskeletal disorders.

Trigger points keep the muscle tight and weak causing pain and restricting muscle movement. It comes from part of the muscle fiber that is overstretched. This contraction stops blood flow in the immediate area. The solution is deep and slow sustained pressure to the knotted area. The pressure should be maintained until the discomfort eases or gets less which helps the body to undergo soft tissue release. This brings about increased blood flow and a reduction in pain and muscle spasm.

At Get Back Health Chiropractic and Wellness Clinic, we handle trigger points when they occur and assist the person to better posture and body alignment. This allows the office worker to focus on production.
