The Pathway To Greater Motivation

woman sleeping in cozy blue beddingMelatonin is a chemical produced in the brain to help with sleep, enhances and boosts the body’s immune system, and heightens stamina and physical tolerance levels.

Melatonin is manufactured by the Pineal gland (an energy centre that helps regulate sleep and enhances overall wellbeing), through an activated chemical messenger called serotonin. Serotonin is a chemical messenger between the nerve cells.

Serotonin helps to reduce stress and pain in the body and plays a key role in regulating mood, appetite and sleep while increasing feelings of happiness and pleasure.

So What Does All This Mean For You?

The bottom line is if you are feeling less motivated, tired, fed up with life and livingness, which means your production of Melatonin, and Serotonin could be low, how could you reverse this naturally.

Your Diet Could Make All The Difference

Fruit:

  • Bananas
  • Pineapples
  • Kiwi fruit
  • Tomato
  • Avocado
  • Dates
  • Grapefruit.

Protein:

  • Fish: Salmon, tuna, cod
  • Meat: Poultry chicken, turkey.
  • Eggs
  • Hard cheese
  • Nuts: Walnuts, cashew nuts.

You can also increase your levels of serotonin and melatonin by getting more sunlight each day.

Another way is to do exercise, aerobic, cycling, walking and swimming.

Avoid processed foods, sugar in all forms (yes I realise fruit contains sugar but it’s natural), alcohol, and cigarette smoking, as these items depress these chemical responses in the body.

Tips:

1) Work your way through the above lists slowly and take a win on small steps.

2) Come to the Get Back Health Chiropractic and Wellness Clinic this week and get your nervous system realigned so you can motivate yourself to greater success.
