STRESS: THE FINAL FRONTIER

Woman on bed with hand on headThe term “stress” refers to any reaction to a physical, mental, social, or emotional stimulus that requires a response to the way we perform, think or feel.

Change is stressful whether the change is good or bad. Worry produces stress and indeed stress is an unavoidable part of life.

Pressures and deadlines at work, problems with loved ones, the need to pay bills and getting ready for the holidays are obvious sources of stress for many people.

Less obvious sources are, encounters with crowds, noise, traffic, pain, extremes of temperature, starting a new job, the birth of a child. Overwork, lack of sleep and illness.  These items put stress on the body.

Some people create their own stress, whether there is anything stressful in their lives or not. They find things to worry about.  For such people stress almost becomes an addiction.

From a physical point of view the increased production of adrenal hormones is responsible for most of the symptoms of stress in the body. And as a result, the body’s metabolism increases to a point where it causes the body to excrete amino acids, potassium, magnesium and calcium. And all of this can lead to nutritional deficiency.

So it is vital that you find your sources of stress and start working to destress you and your body.

1) While it may not be 100% true, “what you outflow you will inflow” you might start being a bit more friendly with other people, just a smile and a friendly “how do”

2) Put a goal for that massage or herbal treatment this week and feel your emotional response going higher as you come closer to your reward.

3) Put on some calming music or some old laurel and hardy film and chill out for an hour.

4) Take stock of the positive things you have produced this year and concentrate on those achievements for a few minutes each day.

5) Come to the Get Back Health clinic this week and get your nervous system realigned. This will really help your stress levels.
