Purpose refers to the aim, intention or reason behind the action. Purpose implies a deliberate fixed design towards life and livingness.
However, do you often lose your sense of purpose in the world? A sort of confusion sets in, a tiredness and a complete inability to see through the fog of your surroundings. And then someone pops up and upsets you just enough to topple whatever shred of stability you were hanging onto.
Part of the problem of modern life is that the state and consumerism has taken over from family and community. Your iPhone and all the advertising etc. is the consumerism non-stop 24 hour barrage at you, and the state gives you protection (apparently), roads (possibly), a transport system (maybe), a pension, but extracts taxes and imposes laws which can erode freedoms. But you, the individual, can get lost in all this modern change. And what family and community give a person is purpose and reasons to live.
Hence you need to possibly re-evaluate on some regular basis your purpose in relation to self, family, your neighbours and wider community.
Let’s recreate the old days by saluting your neighbour next time you meet, by forcing yourself to smile every now and then. Just start picking life up, it’s all around you actually if you care to look.
Tips:
Make an effort to look around your home or office and make a decision to use those recent items you bought and discarded. Then promise yourself not to buy anything for 4 weeks, just use what you have.
Be internally more friendly to yourself and listen to your needs and help yourself along the way.
Make an effort to reach out to your neighbours, say hello and stop and have a conversation.
Come to the Get Back Health Chiropractic and Wellness Clinic this week and get your spine and nervous system realigned, this will help your happiness.
