Oxygen: The Life-Sustaining Gas from the Atmosphere

Happy woman with arms outBreathing oxygen is free and hugely beneficial to your body’s health.

However, modern men & women’s jaws, mouths, and airways are gradually becoming smaller with the resultant inability to breathe properly. The resulting difficulties interfere with your ability to breathe properly through your nose in general, which is a healthy way to breathe.

The Chew-Airway Connection:

Robert Corruccini, an Anthropologist (a scientist who studies human behaviour both past and present by analysing their norms, values, and practices), says:

Whenever diet is switched from harder foods to soft foods, faces would narrow, teeth would crowd, jaws would fall out of alignment. Breathing problems would often follow.

The result of our “modern” diet of processed soft foods then has an added consequence of narrowing our mouths and, by extension, our nasal passages. This causes our teeth to have less space and affects our ability to breathe deeply, which must add pressure on the lungs and heart as well as contribute to sleep-related stress.

The obvious solution is to immediately include foods like raw carrots, apples, dried fruit, nuts (make sure you are not allergic to nuts; if in doubt, leave them out), certain meats like beef jerky, and whole grain breads. There is more that can be done for those with difficulties, and I suggest that you read the book Breathe by James Nestor to get the full picture. Nature corrects where you allow it to take control.

This is important because every cell in your body needs oxygen, and your lungs are highly adapted to extract this life-sustaining gas from the atmosphere.

Tips:

As approx. 90% of us suffer from smaller mouths and airways, include in your diet for two weeks raw veg and fruit along with whole grain (remember whole grain contains the entire grain), meat jerky, etc. and see the difference. Though to be honest, it probably takes 3 to 6 months to really get results.

Read the book Breathe by James Nestor and start to breathe through your nose if possible.

Daily, get out in the fresh air and as you walk, take deep breaths and relax.
