How To Stay Young and Beautiful and Have Energy and Health

Fruits and VegetablesThe body is 80% alkaline, (a water soluble compound or compounds capable of reacting with an acid to form salt and water. An example is Sodium and Potassium. These basic compounds are formed when bonded with oxygen).

The above chemistry may be slightly confusing, but the bottom line is the body needs more Alkaline foods to stay healthy then acid foods. Alkalizing your body also promotes mental alertness, reduces candida growth, improves memory, generates healthier tissue, ensures the proper functioning of your cells, supports a healthier heart and reduces the risk of chronic disease and muscle degeneration.

This also means that the body is 20% acid. When your body fluids contain too much acid, it means your kidneys and lungs can’t keep your body’s alkaline/acid balance in a stable condition. When this occurs it can lead to fatigue, drowsiness, shortness of breath, sleepiness and headaches. When your body is too acidic, this forces excessive insulin to be produced, which is not good for the internal organs.

To maintain body balance one should eat 80% alkaline and 20% acidic food. Much of the discomfort and confusion we have every day comes from a high acidic intake of acidic foods. For instance eggs coffee and toast is an all acidic breakfast. When we rebalance our diet to 80% alkaline and 20% acidic we feel fresh, relaxed, and awake.

An example of alkaline foods are fresh fruit and vegetables. Grains, cheese, fish, nuts, and eggs are all acidic foods. There is nothing wrong with acid foods, but when we have the correct balance our whole experience and well being changes for the better.

A large freshly chopped salad of lettuce, cabbage, watercress, parsley, green peppers, onions, celery, etc., is the best gift to your body. The roughage will cleanse your intestines. Elimination will be easier and more regular. The salad will, Be full of vitamins and enzymes and minerals that you need. Your daily salad forms the major part of your 80% alkaline intake, essential for youth, strength and a calm state of mind.

When you cook vegetables you destroy their roughage , their alkalinity and most of the vitamins and minerals and enzymes.

When you eat potatoes and leave the jackets on, a baked potato is an excellent companion to a salad.

So how do you make the change? Well; according to James Clear in his book “Atomic Habits”, we do it with small steps, small changes. When you decide to be the person who is healthy and has a healthy body, you can make small steps to get there. Prove it to yourself with small wins. We will return to this topic again next week but for now this is a start.

And of course you should come to our clinic Get Back Health and get your spine adjusted on a regular basis to keep your nervous system operating at the best it can be.
