Equilibrium: How The Body Maintains Balance

smiling woman kayakingWhen you manifest any weakness in your physical body, whether it’s chemical or emotional, your environment punishes you. While the physical universe and the dynamic forces at play in life may seem to be under control, the truth is if we step out of balance we get punished.

Your body’s cells and tissues are delicate and can be easily disrupted. All the body’s systems work together to maintain a balanced internal environment, a process called Homeostasis.

Homeostasis is a condition of optimal functioning for the organism and includes many variables such as body temperature and fluid balance.
Have you ever felt tired for no apparent reason?

Have you ever got annoyed without cause? The Body must maintain certain internal conditions within balanced limits or else its’ pathways get clogged up, waste builds up and energy runs out and this can cause stress.

For instance, your respiratory system makes sure that a constant supply of oxygen is available for your circulatory system so it can distribute oxygen and nutrients to all parts of your body. The circulatory system then gathers waste products which are removed by the urinary and respiratory systems.

So it is essential that each day you stretch and exercise to make sure the blood flows easily around your body. The body’s two main control systems, the nervous system and the endocrine (hormone) system regulate the body 24/7 by responding to environmental changes as well as internal changes in the body. Adjusting your spine regularly and getting enough exercise will go a long way to maintain balance and overall health and livingness in life.
